On offer is a flight case in the true meaning of the word, i.e. cases designed to be as light and strong as possible for air travel The best way to achieve this, is for the case to be solely constructed from corrugated or textured aluminium.
Lemsford Cases are well known for making this type of all aluminium construction, even the edges are welded together, rather than featuring riveted extrusions. I can't say whether this was from Lemsford Cases, but it is certainly very similar and is exactly the style of case much loved by TV broadcasters in particular.
The dimensions are; 56cm x 51cm x 15cm, a useful size that should fit into the boot of any car. I have no idea what its original purpose was, but I used it as a case for my Spirit Folio mixing desk. It is still padded out with extra foam for this purpose, obviously it could be stripped out to suit your own purposes. It would make a great case for another small mixing desk, guitar effects pedal board or tool kits and test gear.
The case is constructed from diamond pattern aluminium and as mentioned above, there are no corners fitted or required. It does have 2 Excelsior catches, a comfortable leather handle and a lift off lid.
There are a couple of differently coloured patches on the lid, these are just the residue of areas that had worn a company logo in the past and have been over-painted. There is a dent on the bottom of the case, as shown in the picture. Other than that it is still a very clean, presentable and functional case.
This style of flight case is usually very expensive and could cost from £150 upwards new. I have priced it at £49 for a speedy sale.
Feel free to collect, or I can arrange courier delivery within the UK mainland for just £10. Exceptions apply to certain areas; such as the Highlands and Islands and may be subject to surcharges.
